Las imágenes en "Lo raro es vivir" de Carmen Martín Gaite

Abstract

Los textos de Carmen Martín Gaite son ricos en imágenes. Hay algunos temas constantes que provocan la presencia de evocaciones concretas. Los críticos han mostrado la relevancia textual de estas imágenes. De hecho, las imágenes tienen un lugar en algunos de los títulos de las obras de Carmen Martín Gaite. Algunas de las imágenes más representativas ya aparecen en "Entre visillos" (1958), e incluso en los textos anteriores. Las imágenes son una característica del estilo de Martín Gaite.

El propósito de este trabajo es describir las imágenes utilizadas en "Lo raro es vivir" y analizar su función en relación con los diferentes temas. También, al mismo tiempo, para analizar lo que se dice en el texto acerca de la metáfora, en una reflexión metalingüística.

Las imágenes están presentes en toda la novela, y provienen de las voces del autor, del narrador y los personajes.

The texts of Carmen Martin Gaite are rich in images. There are some constant themes that cause the presence of concrete evocations. Critics have shown the textual relevance of these images. In fact, images have a place in some titles of Carmen Martin Gaite's works. Some of the most representative images appear already in “Entre visillos” (1958), and even in previous texts. Images are a feature of Martin Gaite's style.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the images used in “Lo raro es vivir”, and to analyse their function in connection with the different themes. Also, at the same time, to analyse what is said in the text about metaphor, in a metalinguistic reflection.

Images are present throughout the novel, and come from the voices of the author, of the narrator and the characters.
