Componentes y relaciones de un modelo estructural del ajuste psicosocial en la adolescencia

Abstract

Este simposio se centra en las últimas investigaciones del grupo consolidado Psikor de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) que buscan analizar el ajuste psicosocial en la adolescencia. Se trata de someter a prueba modelos estructurales explicativos que consideren de forma integral, tanto variables psicológicas relevantes, como factores contextuales que influyen en dicho ajuste. El ajuste psicosocial se pretende estudiar desde dos vertientes diferentes vinculadas a los correspondientes modelos estructurales de ajuste personal y de ajuste escolar. Ambos modelos tienen un diagrama conceptual similar y además plantean que hay diferencias de los influjos (contextuales y psicológicos) en los indicadores de ambos ajustes. De acuerdo con este planteamiento, se incluye en este simposio una primera comunicación que presenta de manera sintética una panorámica de los diferentes componentes y relaciones del modelo estructural del ajuste psicosocial en la adolescencia elaborado por el grupo Psikor, que sirve como marco de referencia para trabajo de investigación de dicho grupo que se presenta a continuación. Dado que, de los dos modelos que se pretenden someter a prueba en el futuro, el de ajuste personal considera el de ajuste escolar junto con el apoyo social entre los factores explicativos contextuales, la segunda y la tercera de las comunicaciones de este simposio muestran los avances de la investigación del grupo en el contexto familiar (que es uno los aspectos del apoyo social) y en el ajuste escolar, respectivamente. En relación a la intervención de las posibles variables psicológicas del modelo de ajuste personal, las dos comunicaciones que cierran el simposio se centran en profundizar en el papel del autoconcepto, la resiliencia y la inteligencia emocional en dicho ajuste.

This symposium focuses on the latest research of the consolidated team “Psikor“ of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), that analyze psychosocial adjustment in adolescence. The objective is to test explanatory structural models that consider comprehensively, the relevant psychological variables and contextual factors that influence adolescents’ adjustment. We intend to study this psychosocial adjustment from two different views related to the corresponding structural models of personal adjustment and structural model of school adjustment. Both models have a similar conceptual diagram but suggest that there are different influences (contextual and psychological) in the indicators of both settings. According to this approach the first communication of this symposium synthetically presents an overview of the different components and relationships of the structural model of psychosocial adolescents’ adjustment developed by the group Psikor. This model serves as a framework for the following communications, all of them included in the research activity of this group. Of the two models that are intended to test in the future, the structural model of personal adjustment includes, as contextual explanatory factors the structural model of school adjustment and the social support. Therefore, the second and third communications of this symposium show the progress of the research group both in the family context (which is one aspect of social support) and in the school adjustment, respectively. In relation to the intervention of the possible psychological variables of the model of personal adjustment, the two communications that close the symposium delve into the role that self-concept, resilience and emotional intelligence play in that adjustment.
