Cataluña ante España. Visión histórica entre el mito y la realidad

Abstract

España vive actualmente una situación de incertidumbre respecto de su integración territorial. El nacionalismo histórico catalán ha crecido y evolucionado hacia una posición claramente independentista. Una parte muy importante de la población de Cataluña plantea en estos momentos la secesión del Reino de España. En su argumentación propia, la historia de las relaciones de Cataluña con Castilla, con la Monarquía hispánica o con el Estado español ofrece una visión cargada de tensiones y obstáculos. El nacionalismo o el presente soberanismo han creado una historia mitificada, tergiversada, agraviada ante una España centralizadora y opresora, que también crea sus propios mitos. Este trabajo denuncia estas visiones contrapuestas, analiza su contexto y busca un acercamiento a la realidad histórica de Cataluña ante España.

Spain is currently experiencing a situation of uncertainty regarding its territorial integration. Catalan historical nationalism has grown and evolved towards a clear Independence movement. A very important part of the population of Catalonia is currently posing the separation of the Kingdom of Spain. In its own argumentation, the history of the relations of Castile, of the Hispanic Monarchy or of the Spanish State with Catalonia offers a vision loaded with tensions and obstacles. Nationalism and independence movement have created a mythologized, distorted and aggrieved history before a centralizing and oppressive Spain, which also creates its own myths. This document denounces these opposing visions, analyzes their context and seeks an approach to the historical reality of Catalonia before Spain.
