| Abstract: | El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la influencia de la tradición clásica
sobre el episodio de las “Cortes” que precedió a la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa. Las
complejas relaciones intertextuales que se entretejen en torno a este episodio sólo pueden ser
entendidas en toda su extensión desde el punto de vista del legado clásico y del papel
creciente de la retórica en la escritura de la historiografía durante la baja Edad Media. The objective of the present study is to analyze the influence of the classical tradition in the episode of the “Courts” that preceded the battle of las Navas de Tolosa. The complex intertextual relationships involved in this episode only can be understood in its entirety from the point of view of the classical legacy and the growing role of rhetoric in the writing of historiography during the low Middle Ages |
