Algunos aspectos sobre el voto femenino en la II República española: debates parlamentarios

Abstract

España recibe con esperanza la llegada de la Segunda República en la primavera de 1931. Inauguradas las primeras Cortes, se constituye la Comisión parlamentaria redactora de un proyecto constitucional, cuyo art. 34 admite la igualdad de derechos electorales entre sexos. Entre sus integrantes sobresale la abogada Clara Campoamor, Diputada por Madrid por el Partido Radical, y tenaz defensora del voto femenino en las Cortes frente a la corriente antisufragista de Victoria Kent. La aprobación por las Constituyentes del voto de la mujer (1 de octubre de 1931) supone un hito en el reconocimiento de la ansiada igualdad de géneros, básica en un sistema democrático.

Spain receives hopefully the arrival of the Second Republic in the spring of 1931. Inaugurated the first Spanish Parliament, there constitutes the parliamentary Commission editor of a constitutional project, which art. 34 admits the equality of electoral rights between sexes. Between his members there stands out the lawyer Clara Campoamor, Delegated by Madrid by the Radical party, and tenacious defender of the feminine vote in the Spanish Parliament opposite to the current antisuffragist of Victoria Kent. The approval for the Constituent ones of the vote of the woman (October 1, 1931) supposes a milestone in the recognition of the longed equality of kinds, basic in a democratic system.
