La demografía en el territorio de realengo del Reino de Córdoba entre los siglos XVI y XVIII. Resultados y líneas de investigación

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende acercarse a la demografía del reino de Córdoba en la Edad Moderna, y más concretamente, al territorio de realengo de este marco geográfico. En este sentido, se hace un repaso a la evolución de los efectivos humanos secularmente, analizando sus características demográficas y las causas que explican su desarrollo. Análisis que se ha concretado, en la medida de lo posible, en las diferentes comarcas del territorio. Junto a ello, esta visión de la población cordobesa se ha completado con el estudio de la estructura del poblamiento, el efecto negativo de las epidemias y los movimientos migratorios que afectaron a la misma.

This work is focused on the demography of the kingdom of Cordova in the Early Modern Age, and more specifically, the «realengo» territory of this geographical entity. In this sense, a review is made of the secular evolution of the human population, analyzing demographic characteristics and the causes that explain the statistics. This analysis has been extended, as far as possible, to the different regions of this territory. This vision of the population of Cordoba has been completed with the study of the structure of settlement as well as the negative effect ofthe epidemics and the migratory movements.
