Dehesa y manejo ganadero: cómo mejorar el aprovechamiento de las bellotas

Abstract

Análisis de la dehesa como un ecosistema extendido por toda la península ibérica y que ocupa amplias zonas de Extremadura. Se estudia el conocimiento de las relaciones entre los grandes herbívoros que pastan en ella y las plagas que afectan al arbolado, constituye una herramienta imprescindible para la gestión y conservación de un ecosistema de gran valor ambiental y económico. Este trata sobre cómo reducir los efectos negativos de las plagas en la dehesa y analiza una nueva forma de control natural de plagas basado en la manipulación de las relaciones antagónicas entre insectos y ganado.

Analysis of the dehesa as an ecosystem spread throughout the Iberian Peninsula and which occupies large areas of Extremadura. Knowledge of the relationships between the large herbivores that graze there and the pests that affect the trees is studied, and constitutes an essential tool for the management and conservation of an ecosystem of great environmental and economic value. It deals with how to reduce the negative effects of pests in the dehesa and analyses a new form of natural pest control based on the manipulation of antagonistic relationships between insects and livestock.
