Huellas textuales indirectas sobre la difusión oral de la literatura en el "Libro de Alexandre"

Abstract

Por las huellas textuales indirectas entendemos la información que el texto medieval ofrece sobre otros tipos de expresión literaria, que se difunden por vía oral. El estudio de estos restos en el "Alexandre" nos permite observar un proceso de formalización retórica que va desde el “habla” no-literaria a un "decir" ya marcado como discurso cultural. Esta retórica, "diciendo que" puede ser vista como una narrativa del "decir" y como un "canto" literario. Este proceso se explica por la convergencia de las viejas formas culturales propias de la tradición oral y las nuevas demandas culturales de una corte, provista por una emergente cultura clerical.

By indirect textual traces we understand the information the medieval text provides about other types of literary expression which are spread orally. The study of these traces in the “Alexandre” allows us to observe a process of rhetorical formalization that goes from the non-literary “speaking” to a “saying” already marked as cultural discourse. This rhetorical “saying” can be seen as a narrative “telling” and as a literary “singing”. This process can be explained by the convergence of the old cultural forms proper to the oral tradition and the new cultural demands of the court supplied by the emerging clerical culture.
