Patógenos infecciosos del jabalí: un aspecto clave para la gestión cinegética actual y para la lucha frente a enfermedades desde una perspectiva "One health"

Abstract

Este estudio define la situación epidemiológica de algunos de los patógenos infecciosos más importantes que afectan al jabalí, determinando además el impacto sanitario que pudieran tener sobre esta especie y fijando medidas de control útiles para limitar sus repercusiones sanitarias. Por otra parte, hemos intentado utilizar las peculiares características del jabalí para avanzar en el conocimiento acerca de algunos conceptos novedosos, como es el caso del término “coinfección”, es decir, la infección simultánea por varios patógenos en un mismo individuo.

This study defines the epidemiological situation of some of the most important infectious pathogens affecting wild boar, determining the health impact they may have on this species and establishing useful control measures to limit their health impact. On the other hand, we have tried to use the peculiar characteristics of wild boar to advance in the knowledge about some novel concepts, such as the term "co-infection", i.e. the simultaneous infection by several pathogens in the same individual.
