Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura: otro personaje extremeño del exilio republicano

Abstract

En primer lugar situaremos los orígenes del autor de referencia, aportando una breve memoria económicohistórica sobre toda la zona de las Villuercas, haciendo especial hincapié en su tierra natal, Guadalupe (Cáceres).

A continuación, se analizará lo más detalladamente posible su trayectoria personal, académica, científica y laboral, tanto en España, como fuera de España. El trabajo comprende una breve exposición sobre el marco histórico de la Guerra Civil Española, siendo el final de la contienda el que dará paso a la siguiente etapa en la vida de Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura.

Esta etapa tratará de ofrecer un conocimiento lo más detallado posible sobre su estancia en México, estudiando pormenorizadamente su labor como docente en la Academia Hispano-Mexicana. No sin antes hacer una breve exposición sobre el concepto del exilio para el autor.

Para concluir, haremos un breve recorrido por la trayectoria evolutiva de la Academia Hispano-Mexicana, repasando los últimos días del autor.

Research about the life of D. Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura, the exiled republican from Extremadura.

Firstly, we will place the origins of the reference author, bringing in a good economical and historical context about the Villuercas whereabouts, underlining especially Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura’s home place, Guadalupe.

Following, we will analyse as thoroughly as possible his personal, academic, scientific and professional path, in Spain and abroad. The thesis conveys a brief exposition about the historical landmark which is the Spanish Civil War, being the end of this conflict what will bring about the following stage in Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura’s life. This stage will offer a piece of knowledge, as comprehensive as possible, about his stay in Mexico, studying in detail his work as a teacher in the Hispanic-Mexican Academy, but conveying clearly, before that, the concept of exile for the author of nowadays.

To finish up, we will briefly trail the evolution of the Hispanic-Mexican Academy, revising the last days of Lorenzo Alcaraz Segura.
