Abstract: Francisco Becerra fue un cantero trujillano que vivió en la segunda mitad del siglo XVI y realizó numerosas construcciones en Extremadura y América. Ocupó importantes cargos por su labor constructiva en los Virreinatos de Nueva España y Perú y es considerado uno de los introductores del purismo clasista en la arquitectura iberoamericana.Francisco Becerra was a stonemason from Trujillo (Cáceres, Spain) who lived in the second half of the sixteenth century and was the author of numerous buildings both in Extremadura and America. He filled several important offices related to building in the viceroyalties of Nueva España and Perú. Today, he is regarded aas one of the main introducers of classicist purism in Spanish American architecture.
