La interpretación alegórica de los comentarios del Brocense y de Diego López a los "Emblemas" de Alciato

Abstract

En los Comentarios a Alciato del Brocense, se aprecia la tónica dominante que marcará su posterior labor investigadora: por un lado, el empleo de la retórica para el comentario de textos clásicos y modernos y por otro, la aficción por la ética, concretamente por el neoestoicismo. No es raro, por tanto, que uno de sus más afamados discípulos, Diego López, sintiera también estas mismas inclinaciones hermenéuticas y filosóficas.

In Brocense's Comentarios a Alciato, we can see the dominant trend that would mark his later research work: on the one hand, the use of rhetoric for the commentary of classical and modern texts, and on the other hand, his fondness for ethics, specifically for neo-Stoicism. It is not strange, therefore, that one of his most famous disciples, Diego López, also felt these same hermeneutical and philosophical inclinations.
