La obra educativa de San Juan Bautista de la Salle. Contribución y relevancia de su pedagogía

Abstract

En el año 2019 se cumplieron 300 años del fallecimiento de San Juan Bautista de La Salle. Ello evoca la necesidad de revisar y valorar la trascendencia de una de las figuras de la pedagogía socio-cristiana más significativas de la historia de la educación. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la obra pedagógica y social de San Juan Bautista de la Salle, así como exponer las características que definieron la supervivencia y expansión de todo un movimiento educativo, el lasallismo, por todo el mundo. Se ha llevado a cabo una hermenéutica pedagógica de las obras primas del fundador como método de investigación, tomando también en consideración a autores destacados en el estudio del lasallismo para entender el desarrollo y presencia de la pedagogía y formas de vivir el hecho religioso de los Hermanos de las Escuelas Cristianas desde el siglo XVII hasta la actualidad. Como consecuencia de ello, asistimos a toda una obra viva en los cinco continentes que combina rasgos educativos originarios con innovaciones didácticas que representan su adaptabilidad y alcance social ante las demandas de la ciudadanía del siglo XXI.

In 2019, 300 years were passed since the death of Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle. This evokes the need to review and assess the importance of one of the most significant figures of socio-Christian pedagogy in the history of education. This work aims to analyze the pedagogical and social work of Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, as well as expose the characteristics that defined the survival and expansion of an entire educational movement, Lasallism, throughout the world. A pedagogical hermeneutic of the founder's raw works has been carried out as a research method, also taking into account prominent authors in the study of Lasallianism to understand the development and presence of pedagogy and ways of living the religious fact of the Brothers of the Christian Schools from the 17th century to the present. As a result, we attend a whole work alive in the five continents that combines original educational features with educational innovations that represent their adaptability and social reach to the demands of the citizens of the 21st century.
