Zonificación turística de Cantabria a través del análisis de agrupamiento

Abstract

El análisis del turismo es muy importante desde diferentes puntos de vista debido a que se ha convertido en un importante motor del desarrollo económico. Aunque el territorio adquiere un papel activo y clave para articular los procesos de desarrollo turístico, ha quedado relegado a un plano secundario, siendo necesario desarrollar planes de turismo más diversos y adaptados a todos los espacios que no se limiten a los análisis cuantitativos a escala municipal. Como solución, por medio de la geoestadística y los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) y, a partir de los centroides de las capitales municipales, se va a realizar un análisis de agrupamiento (Grouping Analysis) en Cantabria. Utilizando los diferentes criterios de restricción espacial se va a dividir la comunidad en 11 grupos de municipios, dotados de homogeneidad y continuidad espacial y configurados en función de los diferentes atractivos y variables turísticas presentes.

The analysis of tourism is very important from different points of view because it has become an important engine of economic development. Although the territory acquires an active and key role in articulating tourism development processes, it has been relegated to a secondary level, making it necessary to develop more diverse tourism plans adapted to all spaces that are not limited to quantitative analyzes at the municipal level. As a solution, by means of geostatistics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and, based on the centroids of the municipal capitals, a grouping analysis will be carried out in Cantabria. Using the different criteria of spatial restriction, the community will be divided into 11 groups of municipalities, endowed with homogeneity and spatial continuity and configured according to the different tourist attractions and variables present.
