Estrategias de afrontamiento y sentimientos ante el cyberbullying

Abstract

El fenómeno del maltrato entre iguales, conocido generalmente por el término inglés bullying, se está extendiendo hasta nuevos contextos en los que antes no se manifestaba. Uno de estos nuevos espacios, donde pueden suceder los malos tratos entre iguales, es el ciberespacio, produciéndose lo que se viene denominando en la literatura internacional como cyberbullying. Este trabajo ofrece un primer acercamiento a los sentimientos que experimentan las víctimas de este problema, así como a las estrategias de afrontamiento que aplican para tratar de resolverlo. Del mimo modo, también se analizan las ideas de los agresores sobre los sentimientos que les causan a las víctimas sus actuaciones. Para ello, se ha realizado una investigación en los institutos de educación secundaria de Córdoba, de titularidad pública, con una muestra total de 830 alumnos y alumnas de edades comprendidas entre los 12 y 16 años, período que abarcan los cuatro cursos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria.

Bullying is extending to new contexts in which it wasn’t present before. One of these news contexts, where the maltreatment can happens is the cyberspace, producing what is called n the scientific literature as cyberbullying. This research offers a first approximation to victims´ feelings, also the coping strategies that are applied to resolve this problem. At the same way, the ideas of aggressors about the feelings, which are caused in the victims by his behaviour, are analysed by our team. In order to this, a research in the public highs schools of Cordoba has been developed, with a sample of 830students. Their ages are between 12 and 16 years old, when they are in the four levels of Secondary School in Spain.
