Abstract: | Breve reseña bio-bibliográfica de Francisco Sánchez de las Brozas, el Brocense, que fue, junto con Arias Montano, el humanista extremeño más universal. Conocido en toda España y Europa por su erudición, talento y sabiduría, pero fue tras su muerte, durante los siglos XVII y XVIII, cuando se tomó conciencia de la importancia científica de su obra escrita, sobre todo de su colosal Minerva. A brief bio-bibliographical sketch of Francisco Sánchez de las Brozas, el Brocense, who, together with Arias Montano, was the most was, together with Arias Montano, the most universal humanist of Extremadura. He was known throughout Spain and Europe for his erudition, talent and wisdom, but it was only after his death, during the 17th and 18th centuries, that people became aware of the scientific importance of his written work, especially his colossal Minerva. |
