El impacto del embalse de Valdecañas en el patrimonio histórico-artístico de Talavera la Vieja

Abstract

Nos proponemos en este trabajo analizar las consecuencias que tuvo en el patrimonio histórico-artístico de Talavera la Vieja la inundación del pueblo por el salto de Valdecañas mediante el análisis de sus construcciones más significativas. Estas obras son los vestigios más destacados de lo que había sido el milenario municipio romano de Augustobriga mencionado en diversas fuentes clásicas desde el siglo I (Morán, 2014), los denominados templos de los Mármoles y de la Cilla, y de la posterior refundación medieval del municipio al pasar el territorio a la Casa de los Zúñiga y formar parte desde mediados del siglo XV de las propiedades del Condado de Miranda de Castañar (Santos, 2003). De este periodo analizaremos el rollo jurisdiccional como parte de su patrimonio civil y la iglesia parroquial de San Andrés Apóstol como testimonio de su legado religioso.

In this work we propose to analyze the consequences that the flooding of the town by the Valdecañas waterfall had on the historical-artistic heritage of Talavera la Vieja through the analysis of its most significant constructions. These works are the most outstanding vestiges of what had been the ancient Roman municipality of Augustobriga mentioned in various classical sources since the 1st century (Morán, 2014), the so-called temples of the Marbles and the Cilla, and of the subsequent medieval refoundation of the municipality when the territory passed to the House of Zúñiga and became part of the properties of the County of Miranda de Castañar since the mid-15th century (Santos, 2003). From this period we will analyze the jurisdictional scroll as part of its civil heritage and the parish church of San Andrés Apóstol as a testimony of its religious legacy.
