Francisco Valdés en sus libros: estudio de la obra de un autor olvidado de la Edad de Plata

Abstract

Este libro propone un recorrido por las obras publicadas por Francisco Valdés, escritor habitualmente olvidado del primer tercio del siglo XX. En primer lugar, se presenta el contexto literario en que conviene ubicar la obra del autor extremeño: la Edad de Plata. Se examinan a continuación los principales acontecimientos de su trayectoria biográfica y literaria y la incidencia de determinados episodios y circunstancias en sus textos. En el capítulo tercero, se presenta el panorama de creación y crítica en que surge su obra y, finalmente, en los dos últimos capítulos se estudian, en función de su género, los libros que el autor publicó en vida. A partir de estos textos y del estudio derivado de ellos se ofrece una visión concisa de la obra de un escritor poco conocido hoy y se contribuye, además, al estudio de otras voces de la Edad de Plata.

This book proposes a journey through the works published by Francisco Valdés, a writer usually forgotten in the first third of the twentieth century. First of all, it presents the literary context in which it is convenient to place the work of the author from Extremadura: the Silver Age. It then examines the main events of his biographical and literary career and the incidence of certain episodes and circumstances in his texts. In the third chapter, the creative and critical panorama in which his work emerges is presented and, finally, in the last two chapters, we study, according to their genre Finally, the last two chapters study, according to their genre, the books that the author published during his lifetime. From these texts and the study derived from them, a concise vision of the work of a writer little known today is offered and also contributes to the study of other voices of the Silver Age.
