Resumen: El Servicio Nacional de Salud de Inglaterra (NHS England) está pasando por una de sus más importantes y controvertidas reestructuraciones del sistema en sus 60 años de vida desde su fundación en 1948. El propósito de esta reforma es, según sus promotores, adaptar el servicio a la situación económica global que transcurre en nuestros tiempos, haciendo que el NHS England sea más competitivo, moderno y económico para la población del país. Con la nueva ley denominada “Health and Social Care Act 2012” se implementan una serie de medidas y recortes que transformarán la concepción del sistema público sanitario del país. Objetivos: Los objetivos de este trabajo de fin de grado van dirigidos a dar a conocer la situación actual del NHS England tras las últimas reformas realizadas a su sistema. Material y Métodos: Para la realización de este trabajo de fin de grado se realizó una revisión bibliográfica por medio del diversas fuentes documentales tales como el metabuscador de la Universidad de Extremadura, Google Académico y Google Discusión: El NHS England es una institución fundada en 1948, tras la segunda guerra mundial bajo los principios básicos de proveer de cuidados de salud de alta calidad, gratuitos e igualitarios para toda la población de Reino Unido, objetivos que ha ido cumpliendo a lo largo de toda su historia con más o menos efectividad A lo largo de sus más de 60 años de vida, este sistema ha sufrido una gran cantidad de cambios tanto en su estructura como en su organización, en unas ocasiones debidos al afán de mejora de sus dirigentes, mientras que en otras por la simple necesidad de adaptar al sistema a las corrientes económicas y sociales mundiales y del país. Durante su sexagésima década de vida , el NHS England se enfrenta a una de sus remodelaciones más polémicas, ya que esta podría cambiar radicalmente el rumbo del NHS England en su historia , y sólo el tiempo dirá si es para bien o para mal. Conclusiones: El NHS ha sufrido muchas reestructuraciones a lo largo de su historia para irse adaptando a las sociedades a las que ha servido durante más de 60 años, pero actualmente el NHS England se está enfrentando a una de sus mayores y más polémicas reformas de su historia con la “Health and Social Care Act 2012”.
The National Health Service in England (NHS England) is going through one of its most important and controversial restructuring of the system in its 60 years of life since its foundation in 1948. The purpose of this reform is, according to its promoters, adapting the service to the global economic situation that takes place in our time, making the NHS England more competitive, modern and affordable for the population. With the new law called "Health and Social Care Act 2012" a series of measures and cuts that will transform the country's conception of the public health system are implemented. Objectives: The aim of this work are to show the current state of NHS England after the latest amendments made to its system with the "Health and Social Care act 2012" launched in April 2013. Material and Methods : To perform this work we made a literature review performed by the metasearcher from the University of Extremadura, Google and Google Scholar. Discussion: NHS England is an institution founded in 1948 , after the Second World War under the basic principles of providing free and equal health care to the entire population of the United Kingdom, objectives that has been fulfilling over through its history with more or less effectiveness. Throughout its 60 years, this system has undergone a lot of changes in both its structure and its organization, sometimes due to a desire to improve chances of its leaders, while others by the simple need to adapt the system to the global economic and social trends and the country situation. During its sixtieth decade of life, the NHS England is facing one of its most controversial renovations, as this could radically change the course of England NHS in its history, and only time will tell if it's for better or worse. Conclusions: The NHS has undergone many reestructurations throughout its history in order to adapt to the societies that it has served for more than 60 years, but now the NHS England is facing one of its greatest and most controversial reforms to its history with the "Health and Social Care Act 2012."
