Sombras de Sierra Mágina en la fundación del colegio del Santísimo Sacramento

Abstract

Don Gaspar de la Justicia y Robles, un clérigo giennense, fundó en 1682 el Colegio del Santísimo Sacramento, centro educativo en el que se formarían los muchachos que servían en la Catedral de Jaén, y donde aquellos naturales y vecinos de dos localidades de Sierra Mágina, Huelma y Campillo de Arenas, villas originarias de parte del linaje del fundador, tendrían prioridad para ingresar en él. Nuestro objetivo será presentar unas notas sobre la biografía de don Gaspar, centrándonos en la relación de Sierra Mágina en el contexto de la fundación de este colegio.

Mr. Gaspar de la Justicia y Robles, a priest from Jaén, founded the School of the Blessed Sacrament in 1682, educational centre where the boys who worked in the Cathedral of Jaén would be educated, and where those of them who were born or lived in two of the villages of Sierra Mágina, Huelma and Campillo de Arenas, where some members of his family had been born, would have priority to enter it. Our objective will be show some notes about Mr. Gaspar’s biography, paying attention to the relation of Sierra Mágina with the context of the foundation of this school.
