Escuela libre PAIDEIA: la defensa por la educación en libertad y la autogestión educativa

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un estudio sobre los más de treinta años de funcionamiento de la Escuela Libre Paideia, que comienza a funcionar en Mérida (Badajoz) en 1978, debido a la iniciativa de tres maestras movidas por sus deseos de libertad e igualdad en la educación. Paideia se caracteriza por presentarse como una escuela alternativa a la educación tradicional, basada fundamentalmente en la ética de la anarquía, contraria a todo tipo de autoritarismo con el fin de lograr la libertad de las personas así como la autogestión educativa como un medio para alcanzar la autonomía individual, aún sin olvidar en nin- gún momento la importancia del trabajo cooperativo en grupo. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las bases educativas e ideológicas sobre las que se apoyó su fundación y sobre las que asienta actualmente, la formación académica y moral de sus alumnos así como justificar la presencia de este tipo de educa- ción en la sociedad actual como una alternativa efectiva a las enseñanzas tradicionales. Para investigar sobre este fenómeno educativo se ha adoptado el método histórico-educativo, que nos permite analizar los acontecimientos de la educación contemplando el contexto histórico, social y económico en el que se produjeron, y que nos ayuda a entender cómo surgió esta institución, cómo y por qué se llevaron a cabo esa teoría y práctica educativa y comprender además los problemas educativos actuales.

This work is a study of more than thirty years of operation of the Escuela Libre Paideia, which starts in Mérida (Badajoz) in 1978 due to the initiative of three teachers moved by their desire for freedom and equality in education. Paideia features presented as an alternative to traditional education school, main- ly based on the ethics of anarchy, contrary to all types of authoritarianism in order to achieve personal freedom and self-management education as a means to achieve individual autonomy, yet never forget- ting the importance of cooperative group work. The aim of this paper is to analyze the educational and ideological foundations on which its foundation is supported and on which currently sits, the academic and moral education of their students as well as justify the presence of this type of education in today's society as an effective alternative to the traditional teachings. To inquire about this educational phe- nomenon has taken the historical-educational method that allows us to analyze developments in educa- tion considering the historical, social and economic context in which they occurred, and that helps us understand how this institution arose, how and why were carried out that theory and educational prac- tice and they also understand the current educational problems.
