The writer and journalist Joseph Roth is transformed into a strong supporter of the monarchy and the catholicism, despite their previous socialist tendencies. Writer of novels developed in Vienna in which ignores the Austrian problem during the years 20, is from the appearance, in 1932, of Radetzkymarsch when trade marks with more force the turning point in their thinking and attitudes, giving rise to a sharp cut in his literary work. From there he claims that the essence of Austria was not in the center of the Empire, but in the periphery, the contradiction between "periphery/fidelity to the idea habsburguica" that represent the binomial of the converts to the idea "Austrian" regretting his attitude prior to rupture. He is an author marked by the war and the loss of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
