Responsiones verbales en el "discurso de engaño" de Ayante, vv. 646-692 y el Estasimo II, vv. 693-718

Abstract

El interés por el tema de las responsiones verbales arranca de hace un siglo aproximadamente. Dentro de este concepto se incluyen palabras iguales, sinónimas o antónimas, aliteraciones, asonancias, rimas, construcciones sintácticas paralelas o quiásticas y antítesis verbales que contraponen o contrastan vocablos. Creemos que es éste el recurso que más posibilidades dio a Sófocles para mantener en suspenso al auditorio hasta el final de la representación, al engañarle en muchas ocasiones con los dos o hasta tres sentidos que daba a los términos, sabiendo siempre sacar el máximo partido de él.
