Sinestesias en la poesía de Vicente Aleixandre

Abstract

En este artículo se trata de analizar los dos tipos de sinestesia empleados por Aleixandre en su obra poética, unas de ellas representan una mezcla de diferentes sensaciones y en otras se atribuye cualidades sensoriales a elementos abstractos. La función de ambas clases es explicada de acuerdo al momento en que el poeta las escribió. Es interesante destacar el uso del surrealismo y el simbolismo donde funciona la sinestesia como un mecanismo de ruptura de los límites internos individuales que favorecerán la unión del poeta con el cosmos. Del mismo modo se señala la variedad y riqueza de otros recursos retóricos: metáfora, metonimia... por medio de los cuales se expresa la sinestesia.

In this paper, we try to analyse the two types of synaesthesia in Aleixandre's poetry: the one which represents a mixture of different sensations and another one which attribute sensorial qualities of the abstract elements. The function of both types is explained according to the moment that the poet wrote them. It is interesting to point out the usage of surrealism where the synaesthesia functions as a mechanism of break in the inner limits of the individual which will favour the union of the poet with the cosmos. Likewise, we point out the variety of rhetorical devices: metaphor, metonymy, personification, etc. by means of which the syneasthesia is expressed.
