La participación de la familia en el centro educativo: influencia de algunas variables relevantes

Abstract

La necesidad de una relación simbiótica entre la familia y el centro educativo en el que cursan estudios los hijos es un hecho indiscutible en la actualidad. Por ello, la literatura acerca de la comunicación familia-escuela es bastante abundante. No obstante, la mayoría de trabajos empíricos sobre esta temática es abordada desde una perspectiva descriptiva con muestras no muy amplias. Con este trabajo lo que hemos pretendido ha sido observar la existencia de diferencias significativas entre las valoraciones otorgadas por las familias de los alumnos que cursan estudios no universitarios en la Comunidad Autónoma de la Región de Murcia respecto a su responsabilidad con la institución escolar, en función de la etapa educativa, la titularidad del centro y el núcleo de población en la que se ubica dicho centro. Para ello, han participado en la investigación 2.494 familias seleccionadas mediante un muestreo aleatorio estratificado. La recogida de información se ha efectuado con un amplio cuestionario que integra ocho dimensiones. Los resultados han dependido de la dimensión evaluada, si bien la tendencia general es que sí existen diferencias significativas en las valoraciones realizadas por las familias en función de las variables consideradas.

Nowadays, the necessity of a symbiotic relationship between the family and the center where the children are studying is an indisputable fact. For that reason, the literature about the family- school communication is quite abundant. However, most of the empirical studies on this subject are addressed from (use) a descriptive perspective with not very large samples. Therefore, the objective of our study was to observe the existence of significant differences between the ratings given by the families of students studying in non universitary centers in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia regarding to their responsibility in the school institution, based on the educational stage, the ownership of the Centre and the core population where the centre is located. To do this, 2.494 families selected by stratified random sampling, have participated in the research. The collection of information has been made with a comprehensive questionnaire that integrates eight dimensions. Results have relied on the evaluated dimension, while the general tendency is that they do exist significant differences in the evaluations made by the families depending on the considered variables.
