In this thesis sporting events as manifestations of a concept that included study, and this is the Sports Tourism. The influx of active and passive competitor in sports events involves creating wealth in the environment where they are held. To understand the impacts of these events on the host community is necessary to analyze the main explanatory variables in relation to models of buying behavior in tourism, to know which are the variables that affect most to the expenditure done by active and passive competitor at a sporting event. Therefore, the objective of our research is analyze the economic impact of sports events by designing and implementing a model to identify some of the variables that impact the environment in which they operate, analyzing their interrelationship and raising the possibility that their behavior can be predicted. So we try to evaluate the influence on spending a certain variables related to the model of consumer behavior. The research has been based on the use of Structural Equation Models using the technique of Partial Least Square (PLS). The sports event that has been analyzed are “LXXIV Campeonato de España de Atletismo universitario”, and the “Cáceres International Open” World Padel Tour. The proposed model shows significant results to support the relationships contained in the hypotheses, and provides positive data regarding the predictive relevance of the model for the passive competitor.
