| Abstract: | El artículo relata la sorprendente trayectoria política de José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, presidente del gobierno de España entre 2004 y 2011. Partiendo de un casi total anonimato, el político leonés logró hacerse con la secretaría general del PSOE en el año 2000, para convertirse, cuatro años más tarde, en Primer Ministro. El tenso ambiente que rodeó su llegada a la Moncloa, las innovadoras
medidas sociales que tomó, su particular estilo como gobernante, generaron durante los ocho años en que gestionó el país, oleadas de reacciones, desde las más laudatorias hasta las más virulentas. The article reports the surprising political path of Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, prime minister of Spain between 2004 and 2011. Unknown in the beginning, the politician native to León obtains general secretary of the PSOE in 2000. Four years later he became the Spanish Prime Minister. The strained environment that shrouded his arrival to the power, his innovative measures, his peculiar style like leader raised many reactions, from flattering praises to forceful attacks. |
