Nomos, paideia y logos filosófico. Una lectura del libro primero de "Las Leyes"

Abstract

El análisis estructural del primer libro de ”Las Leyes”, de Platón muestra, no solamente la conexión con el resto del diálogo sino también las relaciones con la filosofía política platónica. El texto expone los puntos de vista teóricos que más tarde encuentran aplicación práctica en el Código legal de Magnesia. La mezcla de prudencia y coraje, moderación y audacia en todos los niveles de la vida individual social es el fundamento de la teoría política de Platón. En este sentido no podemos confirmar una variación en la doctrina del filósofo ateniense. El primer libro es un pacto entre el “Político” y la “República”. La estructura dramática y el estilo literario son los dos grandes diálogos. "Las leyes" no es una obra de divulgación pero la obra filosófica con la "República" y el "Estadista" son necesarias para un completo entendimiento de la filosofía platónica.

The structural analysis of the first book of Plato's Laws shows not only its connection with the rest of the dialogue but also its relationship to the Platonic political philosophy. The text exposes the theoretical views that later find practical application in the legal codex of Magnesia. The mixture of prudence and courage, moderation and audacity in all the levels of social and individual life makes the fundament of Plato's political theory. In this sense we cannot confirm a variation in the doctrine of the Athenian philosopher. The first book is in agreement with the theories of the Statesman and the Republic. The dramatical structure and the literary style are those of the great dialogues. The Laws are not a divulgation work, but a philosophical opus and with the Republic and the Statesman are necessary for a complete understanding of Plato's political philosophy.
