This project concerns the field of Business Intelligence, a set of tools that seek to provide support when making decisions. We analyze what are its advantages and how it can help the development of a business or organization helping them to leverage their resources and capabilities and to understand the situation that has in the outside world in order to achieve competitive advantage. This will be done through study, analysis and prediction of statistics or temporary discipline known as "Time series". The fundamentals, characteristics and methods of analysis of these will be presented from a purely theoretical point of view, trying not to fall into explanations and exposures exceeding the limits of this work. In order to implement the concepts presented a case of practical application will be made. This study will consist in analyzing monthly overnight in places classified as "rural setting" for provinces nationwide since January two thousand ten until May two thousand and fifteen establishments. The objective will be extract the provinces involving an increased investment interest. On these provinces, the visitor profile will be analyzed to set the type of tourism that should to offer each province. The study will be carried out using various affordable software tools in order to try to test whether it is possible to implement a Business Intelligence system away from large commercial suites. Results obtained from these tools will be compared as well as the experience of working with each to provide an assessment of their suitability for this purpose. Finally, conclusions and possible future lines that could be developed as a result of this work will be presented.
