Puntos oscuros en las “coplas” de Jorge Manrique

Abstract

Aunque se han realizado numerosos análisis y estudios sobre este texto, aún se presentan problemas no resueltos ni planteados por los investigadores. Se conocen aspectos relativos a la métrica, las fuentes y el significado de la composición; pero faltan unas bases textuales sólidas, y una edición crítica de rigor de la obra. En las primeras versiones conservadas hay discrepancias entre ellas, errores de copia, variaciones en el orden de algunos versos y aún de estrofas enteras, siendo manifiesta la repercusión de estos defectos en la obra final. Se considera la elegía manriqueña no como una obra unitaria en su concepción ni en su ejecución, sino más bien producto de yuxtaposiciones, reajustes e inspiraciones distintas.

Although there have been many analyzes and studies on this text, there are still unresolved problems raised by researchers. We know the metric aspects, the sources and the meaning of the composition; but we need a few textual solid bases and a critical edition of the work. In the first versions preserved there are discrepancies between it, copy errors, variations in the order of some verses and even whole stanzas, expressing the impact of these defects in the final work. The elegy is not considered as a unified work in its conception, neither in its implementation, but rather the product of juxtapositions, readjustments and different inspirations.
