Estudio de las relaciones interpersonales en aulas con alumnos “diferentes”

Abstract

La diversidad de alumnos con características específicas ha aumentado dentro de las aulas, tanto en alumnado con necesidades educativas como en alumnado con diferentes identidades, entre otros. Los grupos son cada vez más heterogéneos y es fundamental promover actitudes positivas en el alumnado para acoger dicha diversidad como una fuente de enriquecimiento. Se debe promover una sociedad inclusiva en donde todos nos relacionemos, aprendamos los unos de los otros y trabajemos cooperativamente para alcanzar metas comunes. Hemos desarrollado una investigación en Córdoba (España) en donde analizamos cómo se llevan a cabo las relaciones interpersonales entre alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO), con una muestra de 202 estudiantes del 2º ciclo de ESO de un Instituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) cordobés. Podemos comprobar en nuestros resultados que no suelen discriminar a alumnos por cuestiones de género, etnia, país, discapacidad ni orientación sexual, aunque sí discriminan a alumnos con una personalidad específica o que no se relacionan socialmente con los demás. Es por ello conveniente desarrollar más prácticas educativas que promuevan el aprendizaje cooperativo y la inclusión de estos alumnos en sus grupos de trabajo, e incitarles a participar, además de desarrollar habilidades sociales, la inteligencia emocional, educación intercultural y actitudes positivas para fomentar la acogida de todas las personas y desarrollar en los estudiantes la capacidad de establecer relaciones interpersonales positivas entre ellos.

The diversity of students with specific characteristics have increased in the schools, not only people with educational needs but also people with different identities. There are more and more heterogeneous groups in the classrooms and it is essential to promote positive attitudes in the students so thatthey receive that diversity with the belief that it is an enrichment opportunity. We must promote an inclusive society where we relate to each other, where we learn from the other people and they learn from us, and where we work together and cooperatively to obtain common aims. We have made a work of investigation in Cordoba (Spain), in which we have analyzed how positive or negative the interpersonal relationships among students from High Schools are. We have analyzed 401 students about a population sample of a High School from Cordoba. We can prove from the obtained results that the students don’t usually discriminate against students for genre, ethnic, country, disability or sex reasons, although they do discriminate against students with a “special” personality or against students who don’t relate themselves to another people. Consequently, we must put into practice educative practices to promote the cooperative learning and the inclusion of these students in cooperative groups, and we must encourage to take an active part in the activities; besides training them in social skills, emotional intelligence, intercultural education and positive attitudes to promote the welcome of these people and to develop in the students the capacity of establishing positive interpersonal relationships among themselves.
