La historia del linfocito en el siglo XX

Abstract

Introducción. El linfocito como tal surge a principios del siglo XX, gracias a autores como Pappenheimer. Los trabajos que marcan su historia y sus implicaciones a nivel fisiológico y clínico, son objeto de estudio. Objetivos. Estudiar los acontecimientos que rodearon al descubrimiento del linfocito, indagar las fases del conocimiento sobre la célula linfocítica y constatar la valoración clínica (actual) sobre el linfocito. Material y métodos . Una vez verificada la viabilidad del proyecto, la búsqueda constatar la valoración clínica (actual) sobre el linfocito. Material y métodos . Una vez verificada la viabilidad del proyecto, la búsqueda inicial de artículos se hizo con la palabra lymphocyt* en Pubmed y Scopus, la de libros se hizo en Google Books, que se completa con la de temas o autores concretos en Pubmed, Scopus ó Dialnet, cuando el desarrollo del tema lo requiere. Resultados. Los estudios en relación al linfocito han ido paralelos al avance técnico. En un principio interesa la morfología linfoide, su respuesta ante diversos estímulos y su papel en la inmunidad tomando como modelo la tuberculosis y el cáncer. El microscopio e l electrónico permitirá conocer su ultraestructura, y técnicas como la electroforesis y la autorradiografía, facilitarán numerosas investigaciones que ayudarán a una mejor comprensión de la enfermedad. Los cultivos de células linfoides o los anticuerpos monoclonales son algunos de los logros conseguidos. Conclusiones. Los trabajos sobre el linfocito han ayudado a comprender mecanismos fisiológicos y patológicos, a avanzar en la investigación y el abordaje de enfermedades . El linfocito es aún hoy tema de investigación.

Works about the lymphocyte have helped to understand physiological and pathological mechanisms, to advance research and a ddressing diseases Lymphocytes are still the subject of research.
