"Djinn" ou les piéges d’un libre scolaire

Abstract

Sin abandonar las teorías de la "Nouveau roman", Robbe-Grillet logra, con esta novela, devolvernos el placer de la lectura. El registro del humor parece ser el dispositivo literario favorito seguido por elautor. Pero no debemos dejarnos engañar por ello. En el fondo, en la novela hay un amargo ataque contra la lógica y los fundamentos filosóficos de la gramática tradicional, así como contra las convenciones de nuestra civilización occidental, el principio contradictorio, las categorías de espacio y tiempo, el dualismo (vida/muerte; tiempo/espacio; verdad/mentira, etc.). Eso es lo que tratamos de analizar en el presente documento.

Without abandoning the theories of the «Nouveau Roman», Robbe-Grillet succeeds, with this novel, in giving us back the pleasure of reading. The humour register seems to be the favourite literary device followed by Robbe-Grillet. But we must not to be deceived by that. Deep, in the small novel, a sour attack against the logical and philosophical bases of traditional grammar is hidden, as well as against the conventions of our western civilization: the contradictory principle, the categories of space and time, dualism (life/death; time/space; truth/lie, etc.). That is what we try to analyse in this paper.
