The aim of this study is to analyze the efficacy and safety of Presbyopia surgery with multifocal lens. Five hundred and four patients who have undergone cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange with AcrySof® ReSTOR SN6AD1 or ReSTOR toric implants have been included, and visual acuity and refractive results, intra and postoperative complications and the need for posterior capsulotomy have also been studied. Results have been compared in patients who have undergone cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, myopic and hyperopic patients, patients with previous laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) surgery and patients with spherical or toric multifocal lens. LASIK efficacy and safety for residual refractive errors correction have also been evaluated. The study results show that AcrySof® ReSTOR is a safe and effective lens for presbyopia and other ammetropyas correction. We have obtained good results both in patients who have undergone cataract and refractive lens exchange as well as in patients with previous refractive surgeries. The toric multifocal lens is a good choice in patients with preoperative astigmatism and we have observed that keratorefractive techniques are effective in residual refractive errors corrections following multifocal lens surgery. Regarding the posterior capsulotomy, it has to be said that it is a safe technique for posterior capsule opacity after multifocal lens surgery. In fact, any cases of disability side effects have been treated.
