Abstract: En 1963 el jurista Juan de Solórzano Pereira (1575-1655) publicaba sus “Disputationem de indiarum iure”. La versión reelaborada en español bajo el título “Política indiana” le llevaría a ser considerado el especialista teórico y práctico de Derecho indiano más importante de su época. Se analiza la denominada "Monarquía indiana", su naturaleza jurídica como modelo de Estado Moderno.In 1963, the lawyer Juan de Solórzano Pereira (1575-1655) published its "Disputationem of indiarum jure". The revised version in Spanish under the title "Política indiana" would lead him to be considered the more important theoretical and practical specialist of Indian law in his time. In this article is discussed the so-called "Monarchy indiana", its legal nature as a model of the modern State.
