Abstract

Este manual explica conceptos teóricos y prácticos de Microeconomía, aborda el estudio de la teoría de la empresa y los mercados. Los conceptos teóricos se complementan con numerosos ejemplos numéricos y matemáticos al objeto de que el alumno entienda mejor la microeconomía haciendo uso de las matemáticas.

El formato que este manual (exclusivamente práctico) surgió, en primer lugar, de la necesidad de hacer comprender a los alumnos la importancia que para el análisis microeconómico tiene un instrumento importante como son las matemáticas.

El análisis microeconómico está constituido, en casi su totalidad, por modelos que sirven para simplificar al mostrar, de una forma simple y sencilla, realidades complejas. Los modelos extraen las características más relevantes de una situación y las matemáticas, como instrumento, permiten realizar predicciones concretas (que después se deberán contrastar) y descubrir nuevas relaciones entre las variables que, a priori, podían no ser evidentes.

Con esta intención, los ejercicios que se incluyen en este manual práctico desarrollan, en ocasiones, funciones más complejas en cuanto a su tratamiento o derivación que las que se suelen incluir en un manual estándar de microeconomía. Estas funciones son las mismas que se estudian, en la mayoría de las ocasiones, en la asignatura de matemáticas. Sin embargo, nuestra experiencia docente ha detectado que los alumnos no son capaces de unificar ambas materias y ver la utilidad que un correcto estudio y comprensión de la formalización matemática tiene para el estudio de la teoría microeconómica (y la económica en general).

This manual explains theoretical and practical concepts of microeconomics, addresses the study of the theory of the firm and the markets. The theoretical concepts are complemented by numerous numeric examples and mathematicians to the object that the student to better understand the microeconomy making use of mathematics.

The format that this manual (only practical) arose, in the first place, of the need to make it clear to the students the importance for the microeconomic analysis has an important instrument as are the mathematics.

The microeconomic analysis is constituted, in almost its entirety, by models that serve to simplify the display, simple and easy way, complex realities. The models extracted the most relevant features of a situation and mathematics, as instrument, allow you to make predictions specific (which can then be contrast) and discover new relationships among variables that, a priori, could not be obvious.

With this intention, the exercises that are included in this practical manual develop, on occasions, more complex functions in regard to their treatment or referral to the that are usually included in a standard manual of microeconomics. These functions are the same as those that were studied, in the majority of cases, in mathematics. However, our teaching experience has detected that the students are not able to unify both raw and see the utility that a correct study and understanding of the mathematical formalization has for the study of the Microeconomic theory (and the general economic).
