Orígenes de la súplica retórica a los jueces

Abstract

Creemos haber conseguido demostrar la existencia de unos nexos formales entre súplicas judiciales retóricas y plegarias, por una parte, y el juramento heliástico, por la otra. El interés reside en que estas súplicas recibieron un tratamiento retórico importante, como lo demuestra el texto de la Rhetorica ad Alexandrum', además de su uso tópico en los discursos. Nuestra investigación permite reconstruir cuáles fueron los modelos de los que se sirvió la elaboración retórica, que se limitó probablemente a seguir esquemas ya conocidos, como eran las plegarias religiosas, vinculándolos para adecuarlos a su misión específica al juramento de los jueces. Con ello se conseguía que las súplicas fueran mucho más eficaces en la mente de los jueces, al estar legitimadas desde una perspectiva doblemente religiosa.

We believe that we have succeeded demonstrated the existence of any formal links between judicial rhetoric of supplication and prayers, and the oath heliástico, on the other. The interest lies in the fact that these appeals received a rhetorical important treatment, as evidenced by the text of the "Rhetorica ad Alexandrum", in addition to its topical use in the speeches. Our research allows us to reconstruct what were the models which served the rhetoric development that is probably limited to continue schemas already known, as were the religious prayers, linking it to specific mission at the swearing to judges. This ensured that the sŭplicas were much more effective in the minds of the judges, because it was legitimized from a doubly religious perspective.
