Abstract: La típica aula libanesa está centrada en el profesor, donde el profesor es respetado y considerado como el portador de toda la información. Los métodos de enseñanza centrados en el alumno no se encuentran entre las expectativas del profesorado libanés y en la relación habitual maestro-alumno no se espera que el alumno asuma la responsabilidad de su desarrollo educativo, tomando un papel central en su propio proceso de aprendizaje. Este documento intenta poner de relieve las cuestiones que impiden a los profesores adoptar un método de enseñanza centrada en el estudiante. Se ha llevado a cabo una encuesta a pequeña escala de 100 maestros de 10 escuelas diferentes seleccionados de diversas zonas del Líbano. Los resultados del estudio se compararon y chequearon con el fin de evaluar la razón para la no adaptación de la instrucción centrada en el estudiante en las escuelas libanesas.The typical Lebanese classroom is teacher centered, whereby the teacher is respected and is considered to be the bearer of all information. Student centered teaching methods are not in the Lebanese teacher expectations and the usual teacher-student relationships in that learner are not expected to assume responsibility for their educational development by taking a center-stage role in their own learning process. This paper aims to highlight the issues that prevent teachers from adopting a student-centered teaching method. A small scale survey from 100 teachers of 10 different schools selected from various areas in Lebanon was undertaken. The survey results were compared and tested in order to evaluate the reason for not adapting student centered instruction in the Lebanese schools.
