Desafíos poéticos y versadores populares

Abstract

Los desafíos poéticos están presentes, en la actualidad, en algunas regiones del mundo en variadas formas y estados de transformación y dinamismo cultural. En otras muchas se han perdido o están en extinción siendo objeto de folclorización y gestión cultural como recurso turístico y educativo. Se han estudiado desde distintas disciplinas. Aquí proponemos un enfoque antropológico e interdisciplinar que dé cuenta de la complejidad del fenómeno cultural resaltando su dinamismo performativo, su relación con la comunidad y con el contexto cultural cambiante, su manejo del verso y la palabra, su historia desgranada en las historias de vida de los versadores y poetas, “cultores populares”, o su lugar en la historia local del gremio.

Poetry challenges are present today in some regions of the world in different forms and stages of transformation because of cultural dynamism. In many other regions they are lost or undergoing processes of folklorization as a cultural heritage managed for tourism or resource of education from tradition. Poetry challenges and musical duels have been studied from different disciplines. In this article, we propose an anthropological and interdisciplinary approach to account for the complexity of the cultural phenomenon highlighting the performative dynamism, its relationship with the community and the changing cultural context, popular poets use of verses and words, its history threshed in the life histories of the versadores and poets, "popular builders of tradition”, or their place in local history.
