Más allá de la posguerra: poesía y ámbito literario (1939-1950)

Abstract

La presente tesis doctoral pretende analizar de manera sistemática las distintas construcciones críticas y recepciones históricas que la poesía española de posguerra (1939-1950) ha ido conociendo desde su propio tiempo hasta la actualidad. Para ello, se ha trabajado con los principales textos poéticos y críticos que han ido configurando dichas lecturas así como con los principales estudios, monografías y análisis académicos escritos sobre el asunto. Con ello, se pretende observar el recorrido crítico de tales lecturas y sus distintas concomitancias y disonancias con la siempre compleja realidad histórica. En este sentido, se han analizado particularmente las principales construcciones críticas de acotación histórica –el método generacional y la noción de posguerra– y se han sometido a prueba a la luz de muy diversos elementos y testimonios de continuidad y ruptura. Asimismo, se han analizado otras construcciones críticas habituales en el estudio de la poesía española de posguerra, tendentes por lo general a lo que en la presente tesis se entienden como ‘patrón dicotómico’ y ‘patrón fragmentario’. Al cabo de nuestro análisis, se proponen igualmente construcciones alternativas con las que se pretende replantear un debate crítico actualmente complejo y riguroso pero encallado en algunas de las construcciones críticas históricamente heredadas. Entre ellas, las del presunto aislacionismo cultural de la poesía española de posguerra y su desconexión o anomalía con respecto a las corrientes vigentes en el resto de Europa. Mediante el análisis del ámbito poético portugués de esos mismos años, se procura observar dicha sincronía.

The purpose of this research is to systematically analyze the different critical constructions and historical receptions that the post-Spanish Civil War poetry (1939-1950) has experienced from that period until today. For that matter, we have worked not only with the main poetic texts and critics that have configured such readings, but also with the main studies, monographs and academic analyses written on the subject until today. In this regard, we have especially analyzed the main critic constructions with an historical limit —the generational method and the post-war notion– and they have been tested in the light of several elements and testimonies of both continuity and rupture. We have also analyzed other common critical constructions in the study of the post-Spanish Civil War poetry, which generally tend to the “dichotomy pattern” and the “fragmentary pattern”. At the end of our analyses, we also propose alternative constructions which provide a better understanding of the complexity of the lyric scene of the Forties in the 20th century. What we largely pretend with such a reformulation is to relaunch a critical debate that, though complex and rigorous at present, is still stalled in some critical constructions historically inherited. Amongst them, we can find the presumed cultural isolationism of the post-Spanish Civil War and its disconnection or anomaly regarding the synergies and the trends prevailing in the rest of Europe or America. Throughout the analysis of the Portuguese poetry scene in the same period, we try to observe the synchrony between the two countries.
