Dionisio de Halicarnaso y la atidografía: "Antigüedades romanas 1.8.3"

Abstract

El testimonio sobre el estilo de la atidografía ofrecido por Dionisio de Halicarnaso ha sido tomado como prueba fundamental para analizar el estilo de la atidografía. Sin embargo, ha sido interpretado privado de su contexto, tanto cultural como retórico. Se propone una reinterpretación del mismo atendiendo al universo literario del autor y en el marco del interés por las obras de carácter anticuario de finales de la República.

Dionysius of Halicarnassus’ testimony has been the main evidence to approach the style of the atthidography. However, it has been understood without considering its cultural and literary context. This paper proposes a reinterpretation taking into account Dionysius’ literary tastes, and it also explores the context of the revival of the Antiquarian literature at the end of the Roman Republic.
