Estudio y análisis del remake cinematográfico: el caso de “La bella durmiente” y “Maléfica”

Abstract

El remake es un procedimiento que está presente desde los orígenes del cine y que ha tenido una gran eclosión en las últimas décadas, sobre todo por principios comerciales aunque también artísticos. Es importante que el remake sea fiel a su cinta original, puesto que no deja de ser un tipo de adaptación. Como el objetivo es conocer la evolución de una obra en un remake, he analizado no solo el film original y su respectiva transformación (La bella durmiente, 1959 y Maléfica, 2014) sino que me he remitido hasta los orígenes de su historia para comprender qué elementos fueron tomados en cada obra y cuales difieren entre las mismas. A este análisis diegético, le añado también el análisis narrativo y estético contraponiendo ambas películas. Además un punto considerado clave en el análisis narrativo es el estudio del personaje (Maléfica) al ser presentado de manera opuesta en cada una de las obras cinematográficas.

The remake is a procedure that is present from the origins of cinema and that has had a great proliferation in recent decades, particularly by commercial principles but also artistic. It is important that the remake is faithful to its original tape, since it does not cease to be a kind of adaptation. As the aim is to know the evolution of a work in a remake, I have analyzed not only the original film and its respective transformation (Sleeping Beauty, 1959 and Maleficent, 2014) but that I have referred to the origins of its history to understand what elements were taken in each work and which differ between the same. To this diegetic analysis, you add also the analysis of the narrative and aesthetic juxtaposing both films. In addition a point considered key in the narrative analysis is the study of the character (Maleficent) to be presented in a manner opposite in each one of the cinematographic works.
