Crossover Ireland. Colaboraciones intrigantes, prácticas duracionales y conexiones en la periferia

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza un conjunto de propuestas "crossover" surgidas en la República de Irlanda y en Irlanda del Norte. Se estudia el trabajo de artistas y colectivos que operan en una zona indeterminada donde se difuminan las fronteras de disciplinas como el arte sonoro, la performance o la instalación. Se analizan también iniciativas que apuestan por la involucración de la comunidad, persiguen la transformación social o poseen un significado específico en el contexto en el que son creadas.

The paper addresses a number of crossover proposals arising from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The research analyses the work of artists and collectives working in a grey area where the edges of artforms like sound art, performance art or installation art are blurred. It also examines some initiatives that facilitates community involvement, aim social engagement or have a specific meaning in the context where they are created.
