Vincent Van Gogh y el cine

Abstract

En este artículo se presenta el recorrido, en películas y documentales, de la vida y la obra del pintor holandés Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). Las biografías cinematográficas sobre artistas han dado un material muy amplio, hasta llegar a constituir casi un género propio. Este artista se ha destacado por la genialidad de su obra pictórica, incomprendida en su momento, por ser considerado un pintor maldito y por la dureza de la trayectoria de su vida, como por los episodios derivados de su desequilibrio psíquico, que culminaron con una muerte trágica.

This article presents the journey, in films and documentaries, of the life and work of the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). The cinematographic biographies on artists have given a very wide material, until arriving to constitute almost its own sort. This artist has stood out for the genius of his pictorial work, misunderstood at the time, for being considered a cursed painter and for the harshness of his life, as for the episodes derived from his psychic imbalance, culminating in a death tragic.
