Nuevas obras del entallador vallisoletano Juan Velázquez en Plasencia

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia la actividad de Juan Velázquez en la ciudad de Plasencia a lo largo del primer cuarto del siglo XVII. Perteneciente a la familia de ensambladores y entalladores de los Velázquez que ocupan gran parte de la historia del retablo en Valladolid, y por extensión en Castilla, durante toda la primera mitad del siglo XVII. Se estudia su labor en el retablo mayor de la catedral y en dos pequeños retablos: el de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, en el monasterio de San Ildefonso y el de San Blas, en la parroquia de San Martín, en Plasencia.

This work studies the activity of Juan Velázquez in the city of Plasencia throughout the first quarter of the 17th century. Belonging to the family of assemblers and carvers of the Velazquez that occupy much of the history of the altarpiece in Valladolid, and by extension in Castile, throughout the first half of the seventeenth century. Its work is studied in the main altarpiece of the cathedral and in two small altarpieces: that of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, in the monastery of San Ildefonso and that of San Blas, in the parish of San Martín in Plasencia.
