Restauración y rehabilitación de un edificio histórico olvidado: la sinagoga de Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres)

Abstract

La adquisición por parte de la Junta de Extremadura de un inmueble histórico como es la sinagoga de Valencia de Alcántara, y las consiguientes labores arqueológicas y arquitectónicas para su conservación y rehabilitación, ha hecho que salgan a la luz todos los valores de un edificio peculiar que articuló la vida y, por tanto, parte de la historia de los judíos extremeños y también de la propia localidad. Además de la belleza y el interés que el propio inmueble genera, la intervención arquitectónica ha venido a añadirle nuevos valores que hacen posible la visita al edificio y la mejor comprensión de sus partes.

The acquisition by the Junta de Extremadura of a historical building like is the synagogue of Valencia de Alcántara, and the consequent archaelogical and architectural labors for her conservation and rehabilitation, has done that bring to light all the values of a peculiar building that articulated the life and therefore the history of the extremaduran jews and also of the proper locality. Besides the beauty and the interest that the proper building generates, the architectural intervention has added new values that make the visit possible and the best comprehension of his parts.
