| Abstract: | Diversas noticias recogidas entre la documentación militar de los siglos XVII y XVIII, dan referencias sobre el deterioro que el puente de Alcántara sufrió en 1648 con motivo de la guerra de Restauración de Portugal y del proyecto de restauración que el ingeniero militar Diego Bordick planteó en 1751, cuyo contenido es además un interesante testimonio de los diversos aspectos de la construcción en el momento. Different documents collected from 17th and 18th century military documentation point to the decay that the bridge underwent in 1648 because of the Restoration war in Portugal. The sources also refer to the restoration project that military engineer Diego Bordick proposed in 1751, a rich reference to the diverse aspects contained in 18th century construction planning. |
