Domínguez Álvarez: el paisaje del 98 en el Modernismo portugués

Abstract

El artículo da a conocer a Domínguez Álvarez, pintor portugués de la primera mitad de este siglo, así como su obra, prestando atención a las descripciones físicas y a las formas. La imagen que da de España no es la España negra ni la España alegre, sino más bien una España desnuda a través de sus paisajes. Sus paisajes presentan múltiples similitudes con las descripciones paisajísticas de las obras literarias.

The article presents Domínguez Álvarez, a Portuguese painter from the first half of this century, as well as his work, paying attention to physical descriptions and forms. The image that gives of Spain is not the black Spain nor the cheerful Spain, but rather a naked Spain through its landscapes. His landscapes have many similarities with the landscape descriptions of literary works.
