El apodo y sus características

Abstract

Este artículo se ocupa de las propiedades de los apodos en el idioma español. El apodo es un nombre que pertenece a la clase del nombre propio, ya que también tiene una referencia única, un comportamiento similar con el artículo, y la imposibilidad de admitir aposiciones no restrictivas. Por otra parte, se diferencia de esta clase, ya que tiene una motivación diferente, los nombres propios no se pueden traducir, mientras que los apodos pueden, y su potencial creativo es ilimitado. Por lo tanto, consideramos que los apodos serían una subclase del nombre propio.

This article deals with the properties of nicknames in the Spanish language. The nickname is a noun which belongs to the class of the proper name because it also has a unique reference, a similar behaviour with the article, and the inability to admit non restrictive appositions. On the other hand, it differs from this class in that it has a different motivation, proper names cannot be translated whereas nicknames may, and their creative potential is unlimited. Therefore, we consider nicknames to be a subclass of the proper name.
