La enfermedad de Alzheimer: indicadores bibliométricos

Abstract

Esta investigación plantea en sí misma dos grandes objetivos. Por un lado conocer y reflexionar en todo lo referente a la enfermedad de Alzheimer, incluyendo términos afines de Envejecimiento, Demencia, etc. con toda su carga de dolor para el paciente, para la familia y para el cuidador, como es nuestro caso, y por otro, plantea la necesidad de conocer, desde la implicación afectiva, y sobre todo científica, qué y cómo se va progresando en el conocimiento científico de esta realidad. En consecuencia nuestro trabajo tiene como objetivo principal ofrecer una información estructurada y detallada de la producción científica de aquellos autores que publican sus trabajos en Internet, tanto a nivel internacional, nacional, y regional, en los idiomas, español, ingles, francés, portugués, italiano y otros, en cuyo título aparezca la palabra Alzheimer, en tesis, libros, revistas, artículos y actas de congresos. Se analizará la última producción desde el año 2010 al 2015, de forma cualitativa y cuantitativa. Será una investigación de tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo y bibliométrico. Para obtener esta información se han elegido al azar dos bases de datos cuya característica principal es que es multidisciplinares, siendo ésta Scopus. La bibliometría es una antigua disciplina que estudia la propagación del conocimiento mediante el análisis cuantitativo de la producción científica (De Robbio, 2008), gracias a la disponibilidad de bases de datos de gran tamaño y el desarrollo de parámetros objetivos para la medición y la posterior evaluación de los estudios producidos y de los autores. Por tanto, el objeto del análisis de la bibliometría es el documento escrito (monografías, tesis, artículos de revistas y periódicos, "work papers", actas de congresos, libros electrónicos, revistas y periódicos electrónicas, (e-prints) y su propósito es "rastrear" las relaciones cuantitativas entre los documentos y los elementos que las componen, "midiendo", por tanto, la calidad de los investigadores, con el uso de métodos específicos de análisis. El marco temporal de nuestra investigación se centra en analizar la producción científica desde el año 2010 al 2015 de forma cualitativa y cuantitativa. Los resultados más significativos de nuestro estudio han sido recogidos en las tablas de extrapolación de datos y posteriormente se han resumido en tablas y gráficos en una síntesis crítica, sobre el modelo más clásico de la revisión sistemática, con el fin de seguir la evolución de los estudios e identificar la dirección en que se movía la investigación (objetivo del presente trabajo). Nuestros objetivos: • Cuantificar y clasificar la producción científica sobre el tema (número y tipología de publicación). • Determinar el impacto-incidencia del tema del Envejecimiento, Demencia y Alzheimer en la comunidad científica. • Obtener información sobre: cuántos y cuáles autores tratan el tema, su significación, instituciones, etc. extraídos de revistas especializadas en el campo; el área o las áreas geográficas en las que se llevan a cabo la mayoría de las búsquedas; • Encontrar de los texto las líneas y los objetivos de la investigación; los hilos temáticos y los argumentos específicos investigados, y qué resultados son esperados; la referencia modelos teóricos; los constructos teóricos tomadas en consideración; las metodologías y los diseños de la investigación; la tipología de instrumentos utilizados, los datos sobre las muestras en estudio (en el caso de estudios empíricos); • Comprender y resumir los resultados de la investigación hasta la fecha sobre el fondo de las cuestiones investigadas (etiología, herramientas de diagnóstico, factores de riesgo / protección, las coincidencias y correlaciones con otros trastornos, el tratamiento); • Evidenciar las similitudes, las contradicciones entre las conclusiones; • Sugerir nuevas vías de investigación.

This research poses two main objectives. To obtain this information, two databases have been chosen at random, the main characteristic of which is that it is multidisciplinary, Scopus. Bibliometrics is an ancient discipline that studies the propagation of knowledge through the quantitative analysis of scientific production (De Robbio, 2008), thanks to the availability of large databases and the development of objective parameters for measurement and subsequent Evaluation of the studies produced and the authors. The time frame of our research focuses on analyzing scientific production from 2010 to 2015 in a qualitative and quantitative way. The most significant results of our study were collected in the data extrapolation tables and later summarized in tables and graphs in a critical synthesis, on the most classic model of the systematic review, in order to follow the evolution of the Studies and to identify the direction in which the research moved (objective of the present work). Our objectives: • Quantify and classify the scientific production on the subject (number and type of publication). • To determine the impact-incidence of the topic of Aging, Dementia and Alzheimer's in the scientific community. • Obtain information on: how many and which authors treat the theme, its significance, institutions, etc. Extracted from specialized magazines in the field; The geographical area or areas in which most searches are carried out; • Find the lines and objectives of the research from the text; The thematic threads and specific arguments investigated, and what results are expected; Reference theoretical models; The theoretical constructs taken into consideration; Methodologies and research designs; The typology of instruments used, data on the samples under study (in the case of empirical studies); • Understand and summarize research results to date on the substance of the issues investigated (etiology, diagnostic tools, risk / protection factors, coincidences and correlations with other disorders, treatment); • Evidence of similarities, contradictions between conclusions; • Suggest new paths of research
